The “Calgary Touring Choir” is an opportunity for singers in the Calgary choral community to join a choir
specifically gathered together to attend the Musica Orbis Festival in Prague, July 3-7/25. The choir will gather
and rehearse Saturday and/or Sunday afternoons in June, to prepare the choral music for the festival. Choir
director Liz Paynter has had much experience touring choirs in Canada, the US, and Europe. Creating the
Calgary Touring Choir to attend the Musica Orbis Festival in Prague, 2025 is the next exciting choir tour
adventure!

 

Group itinerary:

• June 30 – depart Calgary

• July 1 – arrive Prague

• July 2 – sight-seeing in Prague

• July 3-6 Festival activities (details below)

• July 7 Kutna Hora/St. Barbara’s Cathedral excursion

• July 8 – return to Calgary

 

The above itinerary is suggested to allow time to adjust to the time-zone, and sight-see before and after
participating in the Music Festival in Prague. Deviations on either side of the Festival dates must be planned
individually by singers participating in the Festival. A travel agent is ready to help with booking flights,
accommodations and tours outside of the Festival dates.

 

FULL FESTIVAL PACKAGE:

 

• 6 nights in Twin/DBL room WITH private facilities in 3* hotel in Prague with breakfast including all local taxes;

• Bed & Breakfast basis (6x buffet breakfast);

• Tour escort service throughout the tour – English speaking Tour Manager for the festival days;

• Coordination of arrangements for 1 competition performance at the Musica Orbis Choir Festival (15 minutes per   choir), jury feedback on your performance;

• 1 fully promoted concert including publicity in Prague or surrounding area (max. 40 min. performing time);

• 1 performance at the Opening concert (up to 15 minutes);

• Choral workshop led by international professional (90 minutes);

• Singing during Mass at the famous St. Vitus Cathedral;

• Welcome dinner (3-course evening meal without drinks except iced water);

• Farewell Vltava River Cruise with dinner - 2 hours cruise on Vltava River with buffet meal;

• Guided sightseeing tour of Prague (approx. 3 hours) with licensed English-speaking guides (1 guide for max 30 pax in one group) without entrance; 

• Choir director´s coffee and cake session;

• Welcome bag with maps and info materials; and

• Official certificate of participation in the Musica Orbis Choir Festival issued by the Jury.
